Lost and Found Items from Seventh Collingwood Meetings

 We'll do our best to keep this list up to date with lost and found items from our meetings. 

Our collection of unclaimed items continues to grow.  Please reach out to a scouter in order to arrange pickup of an item that may be yours, or request a photo to confirm first if you suspect something may be yours.

  • November 4 Meeting @ Central Park Arena: Blue Waterbottle, Thermos Brand. Pop open top. No markings or names on it. Held by Scouter Chris
  • November 15 Event @ Santa Claus Parade: Winter Toque/beanie, Black, Cotton, "TLC" Logo with a Dog + Cat Silhouette. Held by Scouter Chris. 
  • November 15 Event @ Santa Claus Parade: Navy Blue Cotton Neckwarmer, "Hot Paws" brand. Sized 8-16.  Held by Scouter Chris

    These are items we've been holding for a while.  Please let us know if any of these items may be yours.  Unclaimed items, after long enough may be repurposed to benefit group activities, or donated to charities.

  • Charcoal / Ash Grey Beanie/Toque. KOMBI brand. Kaeden M on tag inside. 
  • Eggplant Purple / Maroon "George" brand hooded sweatshirt, sized 7-8. 
  • Lego Block Print (photo pattern), hooded long sleeve shirt, no sizing, no brand. 
  • Blue Camo Corduroy Button up collared shirt. Gap Kids. sized small. 
  • Olive Green Camo Fleece Quarter Zip mid-layer. "George" Brand, 5T size. 
  • Half Black / Half Grey Camo Full Zip Soft Shell jacket. Sized Small (6). George Brand. 
  • Red Vest Jacket with Blue microfleece interior. Kids Headquarters brand. Garrett M tag on the inside who is not a member of our group.  
  • White "Thermo Flask" brand waterbottle, with a "whats good" sticker on it. 

Neckers
    Is anyone missing one of the Neckers from our first 2024-2025 season they'd like back? Scouter Chris has a couple extras that have been left behind at meetings if anyone is missing it. (These are the purplish-blue and white ones we got that didn't fit our colors)

7th Collingwood Needs You

    Scouting youth of Collingwood and area need you!      With the longevity of our newly formed Seventh Collingwood Group in mind, we would like to bring awareness to the ongoing need for Scouting Parents to volunteer as leaders, in order to continue providing the program, and expanding its availability to more youth in the community.         Many of our leaders have youth in the program, and as those youth 'age out' of certain groups (like swimming up from Beavers to Cubs, for instance) that parent volunteer may no longer have the time to continue providing the Beavers program their youth is no longer a part of.        Each program covers youth within three years of age. Beavers is 5-7, Cubs is 8-10, etc.  Our first year was Beavers only, and so we had  the most parent volunteers in this age group. Apple Day 2025

The Seventh Collingwood Scouts, Beavers and Cubs group are excited to participate in their first 'Apple Day'. A longtime scouting tradition.  You'll find us fundraising in our community in front of Loblaws, between Pine and Hurontario downtown [map link].  As you may have guessed, we'll have some beautiful local apples we're hoping you'll be interested in!  We'll have two different apples this year - Galas and Empires ! Your fundraising support directly influences the adventure opportunities we can provide the youth.  Primarily we'll be using funds to secure a permit for a dedicated meeting spot this season .  Additional and remaining funds will be used on costs associated with providing equipment, and experiences for our youth participants. We'll be happy to see you there, so please stop by and say hello!

Highlands Nordic, Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

The Seventh Collingwood Beavers and Cubs visited Highlands Nordic in Clearview this weekend. We braved the cold temperatures - this weekend event was already rescheduled once!  We split into two groups mostly by age - beavers started with snowshoeing and finished the day with nordic skiing, while the cubs started with the nordic skiing and finished with the snowshoeing.  Photos from our event can be found on the group's facebook page for parents.  We toured just a fraction of the property which was enough to keep us busy all day.  Nordic skiing was enough of a learning experience all by itself.  While we were snowshoeing we learned about some survival tips; How to build our sit spot to wait out a rescue if we're ever lost Priorities; Oxygen, Shelter, Water, Food,      - 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks for our Air, Shelter, Water, and Food needs.  If we're lost; Stay in one place, Stay Calm and Help Rescuers Find You. Seventh Collingwood Scouts

 Welcome to a brand new platform for the Seventh Collingwood Scouting groups to share information with our Collingwood and South Georgian Bay community.  We've just restarted a Beavers group in Collingwood for 2024-2025, continuing for the 2025-2026 season. Our Cubs group has just started for the 2025-2026 season.  We're excited to see new and returning faces including several that completed their 'swim up' from Beavers to Cubs this year. We have exciting news to share, including opportunities to find us in the community, so please check back soon.
